When Shane Gaffney was doing his J1 in 2013, he could never have imagined that he’d be paying off a debt nearly 10 years later, or that the debt would be two pints of Guinness.

Shane, who’s family on Gaffney and Sons in Fairview, paid for a cab fare while living abroad with the promise of two pints of Guinness.

Irish American taxi driver John McDonagh never forgot the debt and as he prepares to perform his one man show in the capital, he thought it was time to pop in for a visit.

John and Shane joined Dermot and Dave to tell the brilliant story and John shared some incredible tales from 40 years driving the streets of the Big Apple.
