"Two Heineken Cups, one Grand Slam, three Triple Crowns and a pair of mean dancing shoes...", the perfect introduction from Dermot Whelan as he welcomed Muster rugby legend Peter Stringer onto Dermot and Dave

As I'm sure you're aware, 'Strings' is one of the celebrities taking part in the current series of Dancing with the Stars Ireland, which kicked off last Sunday.

Peter's fitness and athleticism have never been in doubt, but he has now proved he's got dance moves to boot. But it wasn't the easiest thing for him to tackle, as he revealed on Dermot and Dave.

"I've had nightmares about dancing all my life" is a comment you may find surprising considering his debut performance on DWTS. He looks like a man who was born to perform.

His wife was the main driving force behind his decision to do it, "she said to me if you're going to do this, you do this properly. You move to Dublin for a few months, you get your routine". No messing about there I tell ya!

Having retired from rugby last year, at the spritely age of forty, Stringer has had a lot more time on his hand to take on some "side-distractions" as he calls them. He's dedicating huge hours to the RTÉ show saying, "you don't want to make a fool of yourself on national television".

The former Irish international also reflects on a sparkling fifteen year career with the mighty Munster team and the "big crossroads of his life" when he decided to move to move over to England and play pro there.

The 41-year-old then had the privilege of meeting another Munster ledge, the one and only Noni, who was up to no good.

After a couple of digs, things got very hands-on between them both. Noni won't wash herself for six months after all this action.
