A school in Newbridge has written to parents to apologise for an incident which occurred on Ash Wednesday.

After receiving ashes on their foreheads to mark the start of Lent, students and pupils began to complain of a burning sensation.

The school formally apologised to those who were involved and it seems all it well again.

Still though, no need to make the start of Lent even worse.
