The best of the box

Dermot and Dave producer Maria Devereux is half human half TV guide and loves telling us all the best stuff happening on the telly.

With Maria off, but the weekend beckoning us, Seán Reidy filled in and here's what he reckons we should check out over the coming days:

The Late Late Show - Tonight (Friday) @9:35pm on RTÉ One

Shane MacGowan is the star of the show, as the who's who of Irish entertainment and music industry pay tribute to the 61-year-old singer-songwriter, who also appears and performs. Tubs is also up for a laugh with Pat Shortt and Jason Byrne:

The Graham Norton Show - Tonight @10:55pm on BBC One

Oscar-winners Judi Dench and Jennifer Hudson talk about the new film version of Cats, Hollywood stars Hugh Grant and Matthew McConaughey discuss their new action thriller The Gentlemen and everyone's favourite crooner Michael Buble also drops in for a chat. Plus, Coldplay offer an exclusive performance from their new album:

Strictly Come Dancing: The Final - Saturday @7:05pm on BBC One

The Glitterball awaits the four remaining couples - Kelvin Fletcher and Oti Mabuse, Emma Barton and Anton Du Beke, and Karim Zeroual and Amy Dowden - but who will replace Stacey Dooley as the new King or Queen of the Strictly dance floor? Taylor Swift performs her song Lover and rumours have it, her new Christmas song too.

The RTÉ Sport Awards 2019 - Saturday @9:20pm on RTÉ One

Ireland's top sports stars will be honoured in an event hosted by Darragh Maloney and Joanne Cantwell.

Sports Personality of the Year 2019 - Sunday @7pm on BBC One

Gabby Logan, Clare Balding and Gary Lineker present this year's ceremony live from P&J Live Arena in Aberdeen. Plus live music from Lewis Capaldi and Emili Sandé.

Not the Robbie Williams Christmas Show - Sunday @10pm on Virgin Media One

Ever the entertainer, Robbie performs classic hits, plus new Christmas songs in a one-off special recorded at London's Alexandra Palace Theatre, . He's also joined by guests including David Walliams and Jamie Cullum.

A second chance to catch his ITV show from last week:

Movies of the Weekend

6 Underground - Netflix

Brand new to Netflix and described as 'Ryan Reynolds, Michael Bay and a metric f**k-load of dynamite' - it's got my attention.

Six individuals from all around the globe, each the very best at what they do, have been chosen not only for their skill, but for a unique desire to delete their pasts to change the future:

Notting Hill - Sunday @9:35pm on RTÉ One

A classic...simple as:
