It's the competition where there are no gimmicks, only four judges with their back turned and the spotlight's on you. It's a daunting task for any singer as it really is only your vocal performance that can make them press the red button.
One man who made that happen is Kilkenny native Shane McCormack, who made Olly Murs feel all jazzy inside as he said, "what soul you have in your voice. I'm glad I turned. I think I'm the perfect coach for you".
His version of the song Moondance has put him through to "The Battles" rounds in a couple of weekends time and he's taking it all in his stride, as Dermot and Dave discovered on this morning's show.
The lads gave Shane a buzz to see how he's feeling after his Blind Audition, and all the hype that now surrounds him. They also had the craic about his family's reaction as they watched him, the support he's receiving, and what made him get into swing music.
Shane also told us how his life is a circus - literally!
