For thousands of parents around the country, the battle around screen time and gaming has reached fever pitch over the past couple of months. But, should parents be considering that gaming could be the path to a future career for their kids?

A recent survey carried out on teenagers found that the majority of them believe gaming is a path to a future career whether that's as a gamer, a coder or a job that perhaps doesn't even exist yet.

With the gaming industry worth over €127 billion globally, is it time for us to consider gaming as important as music, art or even maths?

Triona Campbell, the writer and producer of Gamer Mode, Ireland's first TV series on video games, spoke to Dermot and Dave about the different options out there for those looking to enter the industry as well as the pros and cons of introducing gaming into our schools.
