First of all, let's cast our minds back to October 2013 when Irish international Stephanie Roche scored this cracker for Peamount United vs Wexford Youths in the WNL:

That wonder goal earned her a nomination for the FIFA Puskás Award 2014, where she was the only woman named in the 10-strong list. And although she came runner-up to Colombia's James Rodriquez, it's a moment that will stand out for years to come.
Since that stunning strike, the forward has had her ups and downs in the world of football, from a couple of bad experiences at clubs in America and France to the shocking treatment of the senior woman's international team, and her tibia/knee injury earlier this year.
But now, the planets have aligned and the football Gods are looking down on the Dubliner as she's back to full fitness and is set to join the Seria A very soon.
Speaking on Dermot and Dave, the striker revealed how she has secured a contract with a top Italian club but for legal reasons cannot tell us the name, "it's a nice part of Italy, let's just say that" she giggled.
The former Sunderland player elaborates on some of those dodgy experiences abroad and how they've acted as a learning curve for her latest venture, "I took my time and made sure it was the right one (club) for me".
Stephanie took the chance to reflect on the solidarity shown by her and her Irish teammates last year after they outed the FAI for the appalling conditions they faced. Remember how they had to share tracksuits/gear and change in toilets during international matches?
"It was more making sure every player that's playing in Ireland has the same opportunities as the girls that are abroad"
"We're not divas, we're all normal girls and we all love playing for our country"
Roche is also involved in Heinz's latest campaign 'Heinz Teamz', where families can collect tokens for their choice of sports kits for their schools or sports clubs across Ireland. Find all the info here.
The future is bright for our Stephanie. Here's to the Italian job!
