It's hard to believe but it's been six years since Ireland became the first country in the world to vote to legalise same-sex marriage by popular vote. While this has been a massive step forward in the rights for the LGBTQ+ community in Ireland, there's still many steps to go.

Now, a new GoLoud original podcast is looking at the people who spent so much of their lives in the closet, in the background or fighting for their rights in a 70s and 80s Ireland that is a million miles from the world we live in now.

'Invisible Threads' features eight powerful interviews with eight people on everything from conversion therapy to coming out as an older person.

Host James O'Hagan, along with one of the participants, Louise Hannon spoke to Dermot and Dave about the series and why it's so important to continue telling these stories.
