Food glorious food. Is there anything better?
We love a good feed here in Today FM, and we also love to flake out in front of the TV for a few hours. The two things kind of go hand-in-hand don't ya think?
And although some of the things you watch make you laugh, and some make you cry, there's actually lots of films and TV series that make you rather hungry. Like starved.
Dermot and Dave producer Maria Devereux was Keeping Up with the Kardashians last night (can one really keep up with them?) and spotted the thing(s) she is most infatuated by...THOSE cookie jars. The exquisitely engineered layers of baked biscuit perfection have her obsessed, "the minute they come on the screen I'm like 'Aw damn!'". Take a look:

It drives her daft that the goodies never seem to be touched, as if they're simply there for aesthetics, but it got her thinking, 'what other shows and movies make people's stomachs rumble?'. And it didn't take long for listeners to give us their mouth-watering suggestions.
Man v. Food
My own personal favourite, Man v. Food got loads of mentions. Who could forget Alan Richman's exploits as he travelled around the states eating the most gigantic, heart-stopping dishes you've ever laid your eyes on? Definitely a contender for the 'Best Job in the World' title (minus the cardiac arrest).

The Sopranos
Having a rich history connected to Italian cuisine, Tony and co were dished up some incredible meals over their time on the hit show. A pasta paradise with their meatballs making our listeners very happy.

Pulp Fiction
Carmel was on the line to chat about how First Dates (Ireland, UK etc.) always makes her peckish, but it's the burger scene from Pulp Fiction that she cannot handle. Gimme that 'royale with cheese' NOW!
Marks & Spencer Christmas Adverts
Now we know they're only adverts, but we still watch them, right? So the seductive sumptuousness of the M&S ads simply have to be part of our list. Lots of texts in about these. Absolute food porn!
Eastenders
This was Dermot's surprising guilty pleasure. He loves when Ian's greasy spoon serves up those "chips, eggs and beans". He cannot help but salivate. One could say the dishes are un-BEALE-ievable (sorry about that one)...
Cake Boss
Another caller to the show, Jenny, is famished no matter what's on by the sounds of things, but Cake Boss tops her list. No issues with that here - I am besotted with Buddy Valastro's creations. The man and his team are baking magicians.

Loads more options on the table i.e., in the podcast, with Willy Wonka, Only Fools and Horses and even Operation Transformation making the cut.
I cannot believe Bruce Bogtrotter didn't get a mention. That cake from Matilda is pure filth...
