The new series of Dancing On Ice kicked off on ITV last night and although it was only the first episode, it left Dermot and Dave's Dermot Whelan in spin.

We all know the format of the popular show by now, right? I mean, it's been on for years.

In case you aren't aware, it involves a group of celebrities who team up with professional ice skaters, train hard, then perform routines in front of a panel judges to try and impress them and be the last couple standing after so many weeks. Simple, ya?

Well for Mr Whelan, this whole concept somehow managed to go straight over his head. No really...it did. He hadn't a breeze.

He had to make a confession to the team this morning, admitting that up until last night he didn't realise it was ice skating. He thought it was just a regular dancing show and that "ice" was some crazy code word for the dance floor.
