"I'm kinda beautifully tired..."
This was one of the first sentences to come from Tommy's lips on this morning's show, and it's no surprise.
The funnyman popped by to fill us in on his hectic schedule which includes *deep breath - Derry Girls, comedy shows, his own TV show (The Tommy Tiernan Show), and acting in John B. Keane's play Sive, in The Gaeity Theatre. That's some workload lads!
Dermot and Dave chatted to Tommy about his 'Irish accent' in the play and asked him how good he was at learning the script. He is a master of the improv. afterall.
His main reason for calling in was to inform the nation of his brand new comedy show Tommy Tiernan Live At The Marquee, Cork on July 9th - which he did, but he was more up for chatting about how he'll prep for it.
The lads chatted about everything from trips to Mars, to long drives down country roads having the finest of conversations with yourself. That's the secret to the magic supposedly.
Tickets for his Cork gig are on sale from 9am tomorrow morning (22nd Feb) and I can tell you one thing, I'll have a pair of them come 9:01.
We're big fans of Tommy. He's a joy to have around.
