There's something very special happening in the skies, and everyone in the country should be in for an incredible show.

The Perseids meteor shower will peak across Ireland, and with weather looking set to be favourable for a change, we have the chance to see 20 times more shooting stars than usual.

David Moore from Astronomy Ireland joined Pamela Joyce on Dermot and Dave to explain what we could see and how you can get involved in some science by sitting in your back garden!
