Could we eventually live in a world where the boats on our waterways are all autonomous?

Roboat is a 5-year research project between the Amsterdam Institute for Advanced Metropolitan Solutions and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  The plan is to see if the canals of Amsterdam can accommodate autonomous boats.

Ynse Deinema is the Project Coordinator with Roboat and he joined Dermot and Dave to tell them all about the problem and what would happen if some drunken tourist fell into the canal in front of one of these boats.
