Anna Geary Chats Nicknames, Camogie Comeback & Rose Of Tralee

The Cork star gears up for #AskMeAnything

2019 has been a mad busy year for Cork's answer to Wonder Woman.

Not only did Anna Geary reprise her role as a coach on Ireland's Fittest Family, she also transitioned into the world of radio via her and Dec Pierce's Pumped Up Kicks show here on Today FM AND got married to her beau Kev Sexton. Wowzers.

Her latest challenge was Dermot and Dave's Ask Me Anything, and she was well up for it.

Anna reveals how "Gay Byrne was actually my hero", teases us with a camogie comeback by saying, "I wouldn't like to say I've hung up my boots because there's more in me yet" and is shocked to find out what her nickname on wikipedia is - "I've never heard of that before".

I remember the day as if it was yesterday....I remember the nerves in my belly, the smile on my face and I’ll NEVER FORGET looking at the sea of red and white as I lifted the O’ Duffy cup, it’s something that will stay with me FOREVER!! 🏆☺️ The @officialcamogie All Ireland Final day is an occasion to savor whether you’re a supporter, player or someone that never played but always wanted to go to Croke Park, NOWS YOUR CHANCE... it’s a BIG deal 💕 As a player it definitely lifts your spirits when you’re met with a wall of sound CHEERING & ROARING and a sea of colour as you run out of the tunnel onto the pitch. As the saying goes, NOTHING beat being there!! The atmosphere is electric, the tension is palpable, as is the EXCITEMENT!! It’s just a wonderful occasion and we should all #gotogether and support the finals tomorrow, support the players and support the culmination of a year’s hard work. Everyone who loves our game deserves to see Camogie progress so the first step is let’s get bums on seat tomorrow! She also shows how much love she has for the Rose of Tralee and laughs off a famous Father Ted quote, saying; "I like to be known as a lovely girl".
