00:00:00 / 00:00:00

After 81 days, Kinvara's Karen Weekes touched down in Bridgetown, Barbados and made history by becoming the first woman to row solo across the Atlantic.

Karen's had an incredible journey, from hitting hammerhead sharks on the head to making friends with passing sailors, but nothing could have prepared her for seeing her friends and family on touch down.

Speaking to Dermot and Dave, Karen told us of her special reunion with dry land, the special drink she shared with her boat 'Millie' and how she nearly ended up back in the sea!
