So what is the GDPR? 

It's a mysterious acronym that has been jumping out at us from the screens of our devices over the past few weeks now. One that most of us are just avoiding and pressing 'x' on. 

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives all EU citizens more rights over how their information is shared. 

The measure is an effort by EU lawmakers to limit tech firm's powers. 

And although you may think it's time consuming or a 'waste of time' - it's not. 

I decided to follow the instructions and navigate my way through the 'consent boxes' over various platforms, and I was surprised at how much information I was actually giving away unbeknownst to myslef.
