A survey carried out by YouGov in the UK found that 1 in 3 women in relationships are financially dependent on their partner.

Mairead thought this number seemed surprisingly high, but judging by the response from listeners, there are many women in Ireland who are also in precarious positions when it comes to money.

Mairead spoke to financial advisor Sinead Healy who got in touch with the show, and she offers free financial consultations to any women who want to review their circumstances.
