Something we're all familiar with, and all guilty of, is being glued to our phones, iPads and various other screens for hours on end. Niamh Ahern is trying to nip this screen overload epidemic in the bud and has written a kids' book to help educate them on the importance of managing screen time properly, and she joined Mairead in studio today to tell her all about it!

Timmy's Technology Trouble tells the story of Timmy - a happy, fun-loving child - who gets a gift of a games console from his parents. However, his parents don't manage the time he spends playing it, and as a result Timmy's whole humour changes. He becomes isolated, he argues with his friends, and he's not himself. Without giving too much of the story away, we can tell you that the story does have a happy ending!

The aim of the book is to show the reader that there's no problem spending time on a phone, tablet, or other screen once you have balance and don't forget the other fun stuff. Valuable advice to adults and children alike!

You can hear the chat in full by pressing the play button on screen.
