Something we didn't know about Simon before today is that he was once in training to represent Ireland in the Olympics!

Back in 2008 while watching the Olympics in Beijing, Simon wondered if you really dedicated yourself to the right sport for four year, could you get good enough to go to the Olympics? He decided to find out, and started training in archery.

He signed up with a local club, got all the gear and started to training seven nights a week with the aim of qualifying for London 2012. He did get quite far in his training and won a few medals along the way but when he was offered a part in a movie in the US, that was the end of his Olympic dream.
