Each week, Mairead speaks to someone about their obsession in life and this week was a hot one! Gary in Cork is mad about growing chilis.
His interest started about 8 years ago when he bought 4 different kinds of chilis to grow in his kitchen. He upped the number the next year, and that has grown in to a full time operation.
Gary now sows about 1,500 seeds each year and grows chilis in his homemade polytunnel. He also runs Cork Chili Company and uses his chilis to make a range of hot sauces which have won 3 Great Taste Awards.
