It's un-BEA-lievable!

Us Irish, we're great craic...aren't we? And two of the people flying our humour flag on the world stage are the hilarious Aisling Bea and Catastrophe creator Sharon Horgan.

This super-talented duo have teamed up in a new female-led comedy series for Channel 4 called This Way Up, which was written and executive produced by Aisling.

The show centres around 'Áine' (Bea), an immigrant teaching English as a foreign language in London, who is recovering from a "teeny little nervous breakdown".

Horgan plays her older and highly concerned sister 'Shona'.

Speaking on The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show, Aisling, who admitted she was "living out her childhood dream" by talking to Iano, reveals the inspiration for her latest project, saying, "I wanted to explore the loneliness of living in a city and mental health issues, but hopefully in a funny way".

When asked about the original name she had for the show, 'Happy AF', Bea explains how her all-knowing marketing team persuaded her to change it. The new title's "handle with care" metaphor makes much more sense, in fairness.

The 35-year-old also chats about starring in Paul Rudd's new 8-episode Netflix comedy series 'Living With Yourself' and has a great laugh about the time St Brigid beat her in 'The Most Interesting Person from Kildare' poll.

This Way Up premieres on Channel 4 @10pm tonight, with all 6 episodes available on Channel 4 On Demand straight after.

Here's a little taster of what to expect:

Having already watched the first two episodes, Iano is most impressed by the natural chemistry between the two ladies on screen and how refreshingly real the script and storyline are.

So make sure you check it out!
