She's the character who has captured the imagination of Ireland and is one of the best observations we've come across in a long, long time.

We ALL know an Aisling, as we found out when the girls were last in, this time last year after the launch of their first book Oh My God, What a Complete Aisling.

Now, the country bumpkin is back in the eagerly awaited follow up to the No.1 bestseller with The Importance of Being Aisling: Country Roads Take Me Home.

Chatting on The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show, the authors told us how the story "picks up very shortly after the first book".

Aisling is now 29 and after a tough year, things between herself and John are back on track, and life with her friends in their notiony Dublin apartment is more craic than ever. But after a bit of a shock, she makes the decision to move back home.

Emer and Sarah explain a few phrases from their latest work, things like, 'the brown pisscatchers' which are "a certain kind of shoe favoured by Irish men" (the bootcut-loving type) and the nicknames of some of the male characters, 'The Truck', 'Baby Chief Higgins' and 'Titch Maguire'. Let's not forget 'the shifting wall'.

The ladies also revealed how they have just submitted the first draft of the screenplay, which is due to go into production next year. The Oh My God, What a Complete Aisling film rights have been picked up by oscar-nominated Irish production company Element Pictures (Room, The Lobster, The Killing of a Sacred Deer etc.) and both gals are a healthy mix of excitement and nerves about it all, "this was a whole new thing for us".

They're aiming big too when it comes to the cast, "we'll take any Gleeson".

Iano wants to get Aisling's opinion on a few things so he asks 'her' about Hozier's new song, Michael D's chances of a second term and the Westlife reunion. And it seems she's a fan of them all.

Today FM even gets a plug in the sequel and it's only fair considering, "Aisling is Today FM til she dies".

The Importance of Being Aisling: Country Roads Take Me Home is available in all bookstores and lots of supermarkets - it's everywhere!

But the biggest question now is....who's going to play Aisling in the movie??
