It was very refreshing to hear the Snow Patrol frontman's voice this morning. A real trip down memory lane.
Imagine, it's been fifteen years since Run was released, and twelve years since Chasing Cars. From the early noughties to 2012 the band were touring like mad - so a hiatus was badly needed.
The lads may not have released any new music over the past few years, but that doesn't mean they weren't busy. Quite the opposite actually, as he explained to Alison on The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show this morning.
Gary told Alison all about their upcoming album Wildness and how it's about "the wildness we've forgotten". It also has some deeper meaning, with one of the songs having a very close connection to his dad. We were getting teary-eyed as he explained the video to it.
Snow Patrol are back touring in Ireland this May and you can find out the dates here. Check out all their latest news on the band's website and twitter.
Wildness is out on May 25th.
