So today was the day we revealed the results of our extensive Breakfast Show End Of The Year Poll 2017, with 16 winners announced. 

One of the categories was Gift Grub Of The Year, and the winner was a bit of a surprise to us. 

When Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau came to town back in July, the blue-eyed heart-throb swooned the nation - none more than Taoiseach Varadkar. It was this moment in time which captured our listener's hearts most, and in doing so, made it No.1 Gift of the year (which you can listen to in full here). 

The reason I say it was a surprise is because we remember the Gardaí Breath Test fiasco Gift 'Every Breath You Take' being a huge hit. This came in a solid second place, with MorGAAn Freeman's GAA match reports taking bronze.
