The fleet-footed Chicagoan called into studio today, to give us his thoughts on Saoirse's controversial Saturday Night Live sketch.
In case you haven't had the displeasure of seeing it, here ya go:
It was a total cringefest, with the dodgiest Irish accents we've heard in a loooooong time (even worse than Gerard Butler in P.S I Love You), way too many references to potatoes, and dogs...lots of dogs.
Michael loved it, as he said "it was a wonderful depiction of what it to be Irish". Gammy accents, silly stereotypes, and loads of jargon - of course he was in his element.
He dropped a few fantastic Flatley proverbs too, they're our favourite, "never mistake a goat's beard for a fine stallion's tail".
