Writer and director Ken Wardrop is back with his latest masterpiece, 'Making the Grade'; a heart-warming and life-affirming documentary about students and their piano teachers. 

Ken's signature style offers the audience a unique insight into people and their relationships - like he did in his other works 'His & Hers' and 'Mom & Me'.

On The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show this morning, we were delighted to welcome Ken into studio to tell us all about what critics are saying could be his best creation to date. 

He chatted about where the concept emerged from, and how onerous it was to find pianists to take part. He describes it as "a small show with a big heart". 

Whether you're into music or not, this documentary shows how difficult it is to learn piano, from the first tinkling of the ivories, to the intricate sequences involved in remembering Rachmaninoff, all in an uplifting tale of passion and pride. 

It'll have you roaring with laughter, but get you right in the feels too.
