As the Topflight Today Fm Ski Trip warms up for its TWENTIETH year of madness, we've pulled out all the stops, lining-up something amazing for the après ski! Its going to be bigger and better than ever!!
On Saturday, January 26th, we're going back to Austria, and back to Bad Hogfastein in the Gastein Valley, for a week of skiing, craic, and God knows what else, all in the company of The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show - including Iano (of course), Mario Rosenstock, Paul Collins, Kim Buckley, Charlie, Shauna, and myself (Stew).
This morning, we revealed that Westmeath Indie rockers The Academic are this year's ski trip headliners, and will join us on the slopes where they will play an unforgettable gig in the Town Hall on Wednesday, 30th of January - and we cannot wait!!
2018 has been a massive year for Craig, Dean, Matthew and Stephen. The lads have sold out gigs all across Europe and the US, released of their debut album 'Tales from the Backseat', gone to No.1 in the Irish Album Charts, played their biggest ever show at The Iveagh Gardens, and of course, supporting The Rolling Stones in Croke Park back in May.
So expect something Different, because we guarantee our skiers are gonna Feel It Too.
Iano caught up with The Academic's frontman, Craig Fitzgerald, to find out how they're fixed for the slopes - but he's not too confident about their skiing skills, "I'm really worried how our band is going to fair out".
