David McCourt is an Irish-American entrepreneur and one of the world's most successful business people.
He has written a book called Total Rethink: Why Entrepreneurs Should Act Like Revolutionaries, which is described as part autobiography, part business manual.
One of his plans is to deliver high-speed broadband to rural Ireland, with the aim of connecting everyone who doesn't already have it. He says, "I think it will be accomplished, and I think it's the right thing to do."
David's grandparents emigrated to Boston from Galway, and he grew up in "a very traditional Irish house. I thought of myself as Irish from the very beginning."
He says he now spends half of his time in Ireland, and he has a house in Clare.
David's career in business began in construction, when he invented a way to lower the cost of building a cable system by 80 per cent.
He says, "I've made a career out of using both the left and right side of my brain. In this environment, with the speed with which business is moving, you have to use both sides."
Did the election of Donald Trump symbolise a kick-back against globalisation?
David says, "When people reflect on the Donald Trump thing and Brexit, the common thread is that people are pissed off, and when people are pissed off they act out against the establishment."
