Two weeks ago, Vicky Phelan told her story on The Last Word of how her smear test results were overlooked.
Emma Mhic Mhathúna, another woman with a similar story to Vicky's, has now come forward and is also terminally ill with cervical cancer.

Orla Kelly is a partner in the medical negligence department at Cantillons Solicitors in Cork. She says she fears there are many more similar cases to come, and those they have heard from so far require support, including counselling.
"People have lost trust in the health system. We need mandatory disclosure."
