Azealia Banks called Irish women "ugly" following an Aer Lingus air rage incident.

After removing herself from the flight, the singer uploaded a video to Instagram in which she ranted about her treatment by the airline and made several remarks about the "ugly Irish" air hostess she had dealt with. She then described Irish women as ugly a handful of times.

Her comments resulted in a backlash on Instagram, with dozens of Irish people sending messages telling her exactly what they thought of her and criticising her own appearance.

The incident has brought the singer much unwanted publicity ahead of her concert at The Academy tonight.
