BMW may be about to recall 10,000 cars in Ireland due to a fault.

The problem lies in the connection between the battery and the car's electrical system, which would cause the car to lose power.

The cars being recalled include the 1 Series, 3 Series, Z4 and X1 models manufactured between March 2007 and September 2011.

In the UK, more than 30,000 cars are affected and are being recalled.
