CAO points requirements have surged for most college courses, despite a 12% increase in the number of available places.

The calculated grading system, which replaced this year's Leaving Cert exams, resulted in average grade inflation of 4.4%.

Has this led to points inflation when it comes to CAO offers, and have high-achieving schools lost out?
