Chris Difford is best known as a founding member of the legendary band Squeeze, who had a string of hits in the late 1970s and 1980s, from 'Up The Junction' to 'Cool For Cats'.

With Glenn Tilbrook, he formed one half of a songwriting partnership that was dubbed the new Lennon-McCartney, and they are still going strong today, having released a new album last year.

He has now written a book, Some Fantastic Place, about his life both in and out of Squeeze, and is due to tour Ireland next month, playing songs and telling stories from the book.

Chris spoke to Matt about some of the highs and lows in his life and career, from his battle with alcoholism to friendships and collaborations with Elton John, Bryan Ferry and The Strypes.
