Dara Ó Briain is bringing his new show Voice of Reason to Ireland, and will be performing at the Marquee in Cork later this month following a series of dates at Vicar Street.
He explains that the title of the show is just a placeholder, rather than a sign that he will be setting the world to rights.
"There's actually far less reason in the show than I've had in previous shows. It became unreasonable very quickly."
He does admit that in this Trump and Brexit era, it seems to be the right time for comedians to be a voice of reason: "Comedians are far more aware of themselves than Trump will ever be."
Dara has been living in Britain for over 15 years, and he says he finds the current Brexit situation - which doesn't appear to be moving at all - "very weird".
"The date is coming down the line like a train and they're not prepared for it."
"There are a lot of people hoping this will just go away. The Irish solution would be to never get around to doing it, but they can't do that here."
He says that Britain is a country that creates great culture, "but the flip side is that there is this rump of a country which is perennially unhappy about things."
Dara Ó Briain will play the Marquee in Cork on 29 June.
