The number of cyclists being hit with fines has increased dramatically as over 2000 on the spot fines have been issued to cyclists over the past three years.

The most common offences involve not having bicycles displaying lights after dark and breaking red lights. 

But are most road traffic incidents involving cyclists  caused by cyclists themselves or are other road users to blame?
