Fine Gael Seanad spokesperson for Sports Micheál Carrigy claimed that Robbie Keane is still getting paid by the taxpayer despite having left his position in the Irish football team set-up.

Robbie Keane was handed a four year contract by John Delaney and he has seen out that contract which was to cover a two-year stint with Mick McCarthy and then to carry on when Stephen Kenny came in.
