As temperatures continue to soar, drivers are struggling with the heat in their cars.
So what can you do to make your journey as comfortable as possible?
Our motoring expert Michael Sheridan joined us to share his tips for driving in very hot weather.
- Running the air conditioning in your car uses a lot of power - the general rule is to open the windows when driving under 80 km an hour, and wind them up when driving above that speed.
- Don't have the windows open and the air conditioning on at the same time.
- Top up coolant and oil when needed, and maintain your system by using it when you can.
- UV light and heat can crack the dashboard, especially in older cars, so keep it in the shade where possible or cover it with a towel.
- Always try to park in the shade, and never leave children or animals in the car for any period of time.
