Ireland has one of the most equal tax systems in Europe, according to a new study by an economist at the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI).
The study finds that Ireland's tax system does more to reduce household income inequality than any other in Europe, despite the distribution of income before taxes and benefits being much higher than the EU average.
