An Irish man has pleaded guilty to causing criminal damage at Auschwitz.

The tourist is understood to have scratched his name on a wall during a visit to the former Nazi concentration camp 

The 38 year old claimed he saw other names on the wall and he thought it was the right thing to do.

He immediately admitted to defacing the memorial and agreed to a punishment.
