The World Cup has been very unpredictable so far, with some of the biggest teams being knocked out early on.
But has the drama overshadowed the quality of the football itself? Is it really one of the best World Cups there has ever been?
Ewan MacKenna says the way the draw has worked out has been causing the quality to go down: "International football has been on the wane for some time -2006 was probably the zenith in quality. The whole thing has been going downhill."
"The World Cup brings people together. It's one of humanity's great sporting constructs, so you don't really need to compare it with the past."
Kieran Cunningham says it's too early to tell how this World Cup compares to past ones.
"The business end will secure the tournament's legacy. It's the next week that will define where we place this World Cup."
