Today is World Mental Health Day, and the Financial Services Union is calling for legislation on the right to disconnect from work.

Gareth Murphy, Head of Industrial Relations and Campaigns with the FSU, says technology has led to "an informal extension of the working day", with many people taking calls or checking their emails outside of working hours.

He adds that this is having "a significant, detrimental impact on mental health", which is why the FSU has chosen World Mental Health Day to highlight the issue.

Gareth was joined on The Last Word by Future of Work expert Peter Cosgrove, to discuss whether the introduction of legislation is needed.
