Are you looking for an efficient, low-cost car?

Our motoring expert Michael Sheridan joined us with his top tips on getting a new car at a low price.

Michael says there is great value to be had in new cars by all the main manufacturers: "the trick is to ask yourself what you need the car for and how robust you're going to be with it."

If you don't demand too much of these cars, Michael says, they should last as long as any other.
