Northern Ireland secretary Karen Bradley has admitted she didn't have an understanding of how the country's political system worked before taking up her current position.
She stated that she was unaware that nationalists and unionists did not vote for one another, and confessed to being "slightly scared" of Northern Ireland.
Her comments have received criticism on social media from those who questioned Theresa May's decision to put someone with so little knowledge of Northern Ireland into such a key political position.
