In his latest report, An Coimisinéir Teanga Rónán Ó Domhnaill described RTÉ's Irish language programming as "seriously deficient" and "a breach of the Broadcasting Act".

The report found that the number of Irish language programmes broadcast on RTE television in 2017 equated to 0.7% of its overall output, or 100 out of 18,000 hours of programming.

Is this good enough, or would it be unfeasible for RTÉ to increase these figures?

Rónán Ó Domhnaill and Donal Flynn, author of The Revival of Irish - Failed Project of a Political Elite, joined us to discuss this.
