Paul Howard's Ross O'Carroll Kelly books have been hugely successful, and he has just published the 18th installment in the series, called Dancing with the Tsars.
In this latest book, Ross is a "stay-in-bed father" raising five children. His estranged wife, an independent senator, is pregnant with a child that, according to the author, "may or may not be his."
Meanwhile, his father is trying to lead Ireland out of the EU, and there are connections to Russia.
With so many projects on the go, Paul explains how he maintains his enthusiasm for the character: "It's really about keeping it topical. I've always tried to work topical events into the books."
He has also written six episodes of a Ross O'Carroll Kelly TV sitcom, which he hopes will go into production next year.
Copper Face Jacks: The Musical was another huge success for Paul in 2018, and he's hoping it will be back next year for another run.
"We had an absolute blast doing it. The last ten days of the run were completely sold out."
"I knew on the first night that this was a different crowd. Gangs of people who came to see the show were dressed for a night out, so I felt in a way that we were a stop on the way to Copper Face Jacks."
