Temperatures have continued to soar across Europe, with parts of Paris experiencing 39 degrees Celsius this week.

Far-right leader Marine Le Pen said that she would deploy a “major air conditioning equipment plan” around the country if her party came to power. She accused the French government of “forcing ordinary citizens to endure unbearable heat”.
