A Spanish court has ruled that Ryanair's carry-on baggage charge is "abusive".

Under the current policy, which was introduced last year, passengers can bring one small bag into the cabin for no charge but must pay a fee if they wish to bring a larger bag of up to 10kg.

The airline has said it will not change its policy despite the ruling.

Ian Guider, markets editor of The Sunday Business Post, discussed this and the following other business stories:

  • Central Bank to introduce new credit union lending rules in January
  • Kerry Co-operative will raise €90 million from shares in Kerry Group
  • Hines Ireland apologises to Grafton Street flower sellers for "street clutter" remarks
