Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Robert De Niro and CNN were among the recipients of suspicious packages in the last few days, thought by investigators to be pipe bombs.
Although the motive is currently unknown, each of the individuals and organisations targeted are known to be critics of Donald Trump.
US Vice President Mike Pence condemned the bomb threats in a tweet.
We condemn the attempted attacks against fmr Pres Obama, the Clintons, @CNN & others. These cowardly actions are despicable & have no place in this Country. Grateful for swift response of @SecretService, @FBI & local law enforcement. Those responsible will be brought to justice.
