As Christmas approaches, many people will be buying quad bikes and scramblers as presents for their children or teenagers.
But as our motoring expert Michael Sheridan explains, these are very dangerous for people who don't know how to use them properly.
New models can be bought quite cheaply, but they are intended for motorsport and are not suitable for road use. A licence is also required.
