On The Last Word yesterday, Andrew McGinley, whose wife Deirdre Morley was found not guilty by reason of insanity last week of murdering their three children Conor, Darragh and Carla, made several criticisms of Deirdre’s treatment by the mental health services in Ireland.

You can listen to that chat in full here.

Andrew spoke of how he and his family had believed in the weekend before she killed her children that Deirdre was getting better after a longstanding mental health problem. In fact, she was getting worse and was telling mental health practitioners that she was feeling overwhelmed.

Dr Ilona Duffy: Monaghan GP and Fiona Coyle CEO Mental Health Reform Ireland joined The Last Word to discuss the difficulties facing families when a loved one is accessing mental health services in Ireland.
